Many employers have matching gift programs for charitable contributions made by their employees. Gifts from employees’ spouses and retirees may also qualify for a match. Check with your employer to see if your donation to AAH can be matched.
Gifts of stock or other appreciated assets yield a profound benefit for the communities we serve and are often a better option for realizing the tax benefits of your giving. Please contact Laura Barrantes at email@example.com or 703-879-6034 when making a gift of securities to ensure proper acknowledgment. Our brokerage account is with Vanguard.

IRA Charitable Rollover
If you are 70 1/2-years-old or older and have a traditional Individual Retirement Account (IRA), an IRA rollover is a savvy way to make a gift and support AAH. IRA charitable rollovers give you the opportunity to transfer up to $100,000 each year without it being treated as taxable income. For your gift to qualify:
- You must be 70 ½ or older at the time of your gift.
- The transfer must go directly from your IRA to Arlington Academy of Hope.
- Your total annual IRA gift(s) cannot exceed $100,000.
- Your gift must be made to AAH by December 31.
- Your gift must be outright. IRA Charitable Rollover gifts to donor-advised funds or life-income vehicles, such as charitable gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts, are not allowed.
Please contact your IRA Administrator to ensure that all necessary steps are completed to finalize your charitable distribution. We also encourage you to consult with your tax advisor when considering this type of gift.
Donor Advised Funds
If you have a donor advised fund, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to AAH directly from your fund (as long as your fund’s sponsoring organization is participating) through this link.
